BISD RESOURCE OFFICERS
BOERNE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
Support School Resource Officers
Boerne Independent School District (BISD) School Resource Officers (SROs) are law enforcement officers assigned to and located on the campus of each BISD campus. Their job duties include protection of students and school campuses as well as supporting students through safety awareness education and assisting in the training of district staff for emergency response.

Keeping our children and Boerne Independent School District campuses safe is a priority for all of us. Prevention plans and strategies, training, and standardization of specialized equipment designed to expedite response times are critical to achieving success.

This is why the Boerne Police Foundation has partnered with the Boerne ISD to help expedite achieving success in the area.

We are thankful to live in a community where our citizens have consistently supported law enforcement and first responder needs.
What Do Our SROs Need?
A recent review of SRO needs conducted by local multiple law enforcement agencies, BISD Chief of Safety and Security, and local law enforcement consultants resulted in the development of a plan to better equip BISD SROs.

While BISD SROs are equipped to protect our schools and students today, the plan focuses on standardizing equipment and acquisition of specialized equipment across all 12 BISD schools. This includes providing additional tools necessary to expedite response times in the event of an emergency.

These tools include, but are not limited to,
– Protective shields and equipment
– Tactical entrance tools
– Mass casualty trauma kits
– Specialized firearms
– Advanced training for all SROs
How Can I Help?
Donations can be made to the Foundation with a designation for use by BISD SROs or you can sponsor any of the 12 BISD schools.

Equipment needs, grouped by category for all 12 schools, range from $700 to $39,000.

A direct school sponsorship to cover equipment and training needs for one school is $7500. Note, if we receive multiple sponsorships for one school, the Boerne Police Foundation will utilize excess funds towards SRO needs for other schools.
